Ferguson was born in Littleton, Colorado where he attended high school at Heritage. In Ferguson's junior season, he had a breakout year hauling in 54 receptions for 929 yards and 11 touchdowns.[2] Coming out of high school, Ferguson was rated as the number ten tight end nationally.[3] Ferguson would decide to commit to play college football for the Oregon Ducks.
